| The Window (from the short story “Lifeline”) When the window is open The purest of heart May enter, through dreams, one mind And share, for a while The memories and thoughts Of the loved one they’ve left behind When death has occurred Whilst saving the life Of another, the two share this token For the bond between one Saved by another Is too strong to be fully broken It is not for either The living or dead To decide when the window is there Nor for how long Each visit may last But the privilege is special and rare When heart touches heart And mind touches mind A light touches earth from above This light passes through Connecting the two In the window created by love |
| The Space Within When noise and chaos, pain and fear Pull the world apart I look inside myself to find release In my private thoughts I hear The music of my heart And that sweet music gives my spirit peace The things that filled my head with doubt And made me fear or hate Pulled me down to depths of great despair But I have learned to shut them out And fully concentrate On the space within, and I am happy there |
