Rich There is nothing in this world greater than being loved A smile to share; a loving hand to hold And something very special makes this even greater still The one who loves me has a heart of gold The nature of the man I love, who loves me in return Is warm and giving, generous and dear I can’t describe the happiness that fills my very soul The moment I begin to sense he’s near I know that I was born the day he came into my world And I will bear the joys and trials of life With Richard who is all a human being could hope to be How fortunate I am to be his wife! |
Mom When it seems that mankind is out for itself And people care not for each other When my faith in humanity feels very low I pause and I think of my mother Though poor, she raised three of us by herself She could thrive on love alone Her caring for us remained as strong As ever long after we’d grown If she had one dime, she’d divide it to us Even if it left her with none And if she had been rich, she would have fed And clothed EVERYONE She was a mixture of morals and wit Time-proven tough-love, strong and proud And child-like mischief that reveled in humor And made us laugh out loud I don’t know what gave my siblings and I The fortunate right to be hers But now that she’s gone, I hope that somewhere In an “after-life universe” Her humor, her heart and her generous nature Will ring in the kingdom come And everyone up there, as did many here, Will take pleasure in calling her “Mom” |
