Dear Dr. Miller How does it work, the “body in question” If the blueprint from you were passed Man would have far to reach out before He could walk I the shadow you cast All minds would be filled with interest in Science, Music, Drama, Art Expertly aware of all that is there For the senses to read through the heart A teacher who makes it easy to learn What we are about, so to speak A genius at “Lit” and a natural wit With talents countless and unique So, a blueprint you’re not, because you are rare You’ve become somewhat of a ‘star’ Everything that you’ve tried has been good for us Who benefit by what you are
Opera Ghost In the dark, eternal night he lives Where no eyes will turn away Where no voice will cry in disbelief Or long for the light of day In the heart of no one does he dwell And no heart, you would think, has he Yet his soul cries out for one kindly word And a smile he longs to see In the depths of dark despair he sits Writing music for one voice Who would only sing in his dismal world If she had no other choice In the mask he wears is the solace and peace He can find in no other place Till he leaves even that behind in his plight Shunned by an inhuman race
Brave Nightingale Echoes of familiar sounds fall upon my ears Sounds that tell their memorable tale Of stolen dreams and happy hours etched upon the heart Of a wise and beautiful, brave nightingale All the loveliness of life played melodically By the voice both trained and born to sing Shades of life’s emotions, weathered but not worn Promising still yet most everything Pain may still inhibit all her efforts to be free To share all of the magic she shared then But the love that sustains her, she has given and receives And soon she will sing for us again For all the many people who know her special warmth Eagerly await when, without fail Poignant and beautiful and strong Comes the voice of our own brave nightingale.
Everyone Has A Place Everyone has a place in the world Like each star has a place in the sky True, it’s not always found in each life But it’s usually where interests lie When we are lazy, we leave it behind For someone unworthy to fill When we are greedy, we over-consume Letting the best of it spill But still, it is there, waiting for us Now matter how large or how small Nothing can stand in the path of a heart That is certain it’s heart its call What we get out of our role in life Depends on what we give the cause Best not to seek only money or fame, Prestige, Acceptance, Applause Search ‘til your heart tells you you’ve found Something to add your life to Do not simply look for something that may Add certain joys to you If you believe you contribute to life What greater thrill do you need? The person who finds their place in life Is a satisfied person indeed!
