| I’d Never Forget Your Birthday I’d never forget your birthday I’d like your hair just fine I’d buy you lots of clothes that fit you If you were a nephew of mine You’d tell me tales of magic I’d listen with pride and glee Heaven knows you’ve already cast Your special magic on me You’d have a lovely photograph Of your parents beside you at night And I would tell you stories That would fill you with delight You will be a great wizard And do the things great wizards do Now the whole world knows your birthday, Harry So many happy birthdays to you |
Boundless Appeal A bright blue Harry Potter cap sat firmly on his head This nine year old who could not see, and his mother proudly said He’s read all the books in Braille Age is but a number, language, culture matter less And each is read at least once more while waiting for the next Big day when they go on sale I think the children of our children, this hobby will engage As those who once would not have read devour every page And “why is this”, you say? Is it the characters, treatment or plot that planted the seed? The words and lines and chapters seem to make us want to read Harry is here to stay! |
